Picking a snowboard comes down to how you ride, where you ride, your height and weight, and your boot size.

1. Your riding style

  • All mountain: one board for groomers, side hits and a little powder. This is the right choice for most riders.
  • Park & freestyle: softer, twin shapes for jumps, rails and riding switch.
  • Powder & freeride: directional shapes with a set-back stance that float in deep snow.

2. Shape and profile

Camber gives pop and edge hold. Rocker (or flat) is looser and more forgiving, and hybrids mix the two. Beginners usually learn fastest on a softer board with some rocker.

3. Length and width

Board length depends mostly on your weight. Each board’s size chart lists a weight range for every size. A traditional starting point is a board that comes up between your chin and nose. If your boots are about a men’s size 11 or larger, you may need a wide (W) board so your toes and heels don’t drag.

Boots and bindings

Boots should fit snug with your heel held down. Bindings need to match your boot size and the way you ride. We set up stance and angles in the shop.
